Our Story

Out West Atelier began not out of a business plan, but out of necessity and a spark of creativity. While living in Guam, I found myself in a situation familiar to many on the island—there were no furniture stores that offered the kind of pieces I wanted for my home. Faced with the challenge of furnishing our home, I decided to take matters into my own hands. I thought, "Hey, I can make this," and so I tried.

In the beginning, my skills were rough, and the learning curve was steep. But with persistence and a growing passion, I started to get the hang of it. Slowly, our home became a showcase of custom-made furniture that suited our needs perfectly. Friends who visited would often compliment my work, and soon I found myself making pieces for them as well. The satisfaction of creating something unique and tailored for others sparked the idea of focusing on custom furniture.

The turning point came with a TV stand I designed and built. Not only did it serve its purpose beautifully in our home, but it also caught the eye of many friends and acquaintances. Before I knew it, I had so many orders for that one piece that I couldn’t keep up with the demand before we moved back to the U.S.

Choosing to focus on custom items was a natural decision. I want people to get exactly what they want because that’s the whole reason I started making furniture in the first place—Guam didn’t have what I wanted, so I made it myself. Now, through Out West Atelier, we aim to offer others the same opportunity: to own furniture that truly fits their needs and style.

Our hope is to reach more people and provide them with the custom pieces they’ve always wanted at a price they think is fair. We take pride in being approachable and delivering excellent customer service. Our goal is to build lasting relationships with  our customers, ensuring they keep coming back for more.
